Courtesy of uigui.org, though I ended up taking out the MT tags because it was easier for me that way. I did, however, make an MT category archives template (if you'd like a copy, download for mac or for pc, but don't ask me anything about it because I don't know.)

Memorial Day Weekend 2002
Chad and Doug at the air show in Salinas or Gilroy or somewhere. [by Chad. good job, honey.]Chad, all grainy and cropped because of a big ugly light leak.
Lake Berryessa
1. The cove where we picnicked and tried to swim but it was still a bit early in the season and all nipply in the water. notable in that the colors are just about right in this one. in the photos, most of them are, but the scanner leaves a bit to be desired, and i photoshopped the heck out of this one to correct. the others are a bit murky and dark, because i have no patience.
2. My gumby, who is the best-natured boy ever.
3. also the cove.
4. and more cove.
5. from the north end of the lake before heading home.
6. grasses at north end.
7. shot as orchestrated and arranged by Chad, who is all too willing to drive down the middle of the road, but not allowed to handle the camera at the same time.
Trip to Gold Country [Tuolomne, Calaveras, and Amador counties]
22-23 June 2002Jamestown
1. smiley face on the hill.
2. Jamestown, gateway to the motherlode.
3. our lovely accommodations, the Royal Hotel, on the left, next to double-decker antique-y shop. our car, second from left.
4. I look vaguely constipated, but I'm really just trying to focus. really.
5. our Chad, sitting on the downright comfiest bed i've ever had the pleasure of sleeping on, through our lovely back door.
6. our lovely porch swing, next to our lovely door.
7. our lovely garden, just outside our lovely door.
8. Jamestown hotel.
9. Smoke St.
10. Mother Lode Coffee Shop.
11. old west justice.
12. the cute little church, the cute little moon at twilight.
13. boop in the window.
14. moon over the Jamestown train station. We missed the sunset dinner run.
15. Dr. Tequila's roadhouse.
16. lamps in the Royal Hotel's lobby.
17. apparently, judging by all the plaques and town names [there's even a Twain Harte], Mark Twain and Brett Harte lived everywhere you can imagine within a hundred-mile radius of here.
18. lamp at the haunted Willows Steakhouse, which is quite charming, although the food is so-so.
19. photo-op miniature buildings sheerly for tourism purposes but cute nonetheless. they had these in most of the towns we stopped in.
20. Chad, busted, bailed out with luuuuuv.
21. outhouse for sale. was surprised by how small it was.
22. inquire within.
23. Margaret's Saloon, or Tavern, or Bar, or what have you. it doesn't specify, and didn't seem to be open any of the time we were there, but it might just be the sort of place people enter at first call and don't leave 'til last.
Sonora
1. first home of Wells Fargo in Sonora, the town in which we had the encounter with the bitter visitors' center volunteer ['where you heading?' 'Jackson' 'whatever'. 'where you from?' 'Oakland' 'i'm lived in San Lorenzo, never could stand driving in Oakland'.]
Columbia State Park
1. Chad panning. $3/pan, unless you want them to toss in some gold flakes so you don't feel like a total loser. then it's $5. we just took one unfettered pan, and i grabbed a second when someone left. ha ha! take that! found a bunch of teeny tiny garnets [they even come in blue. i had no idea.] and a couple flakes of gold. think the size of the dust that's floating around in front of you. that big.
2. Douglass Saloon, for wuggie, even if they spelled it wrong.
3. since it's a state park, a restored gold rush town, it's all educational and touristy. they've got carriage rides [$6 a pop] and the streets in the main part of town are closed off to cars.
misc.
1. Casey in the beanie cabana. April 2002.2. cast party at Zoe's. 19 May 2002.
