Park in the day Park in the day Park in the day Park in the day Park in the day Park in the day Park in the day Park in the day Park in the day Park in the day
We don't make it out to Alameda during the day much, but we stopped in to get sandwiches from Italian deli we'd spotted the night before. They were on vacation, so we went across the street for hot dogs instead. Chad ordered one of those jelly teas. I warned him that I'd tried one of those once, and it made me feel sick. His made him feel sick, too. One of the places I've always wanted to go on Park is the Boniere Bakery. They've been closed every time we walk by, but not today. I got a lemon bar for later (delicious) but passed on the candied figs. Next door is the consignment shop. The owner was on vacation. But not the cats. Nor the lady at the Elvis jewelry store; you can't leave the people who need their diamanté signet ring hanging. The Mad Hatter smelled super-duper good, so I didn't go in, because I would've spent all my money on soaps. This is one place we're definitely going back to; they have mariachi nights.
(next: the lovely drive out to the ocean)
